#NYFW The Launch presented by The Designer Whisperer

Hey Guys & Dolls!

As many of you know well it’s New York Fashion Week. The city is full of great people in great styles and designers who are presenting spring seasons galore. You also know that I don’t get to normally see a lot of these shows in real time whether it’d be work or school (in the past). City Style Life is picking up steam and getting recognized which is amazing (I thank all of you for staying with me and I thank everyone who’s new to the site for checking it out) and with getting recognized means opportunities I never saw coming. Case in point last night’s “The Launch presented by The Designer Whisperer“.

The Beautiful Elsa who invited me and ran the event organized a group of independent designers and gave them a space in the beautiful (and never before seen!!!) Public Factory located adjacent to the beautiful Soho Grand Hotel. There were four designers there each with their own artistic view on fashion. Below you’ll find some photos of presentations as well as some videos.

Alexa Pledger, the atelier behind Alexa Blaq, looks more for accessibility in her designs, combining elements of Scandinavian minimalism with the aforementioned vibrancy of New York City.

I absolutely adore the minimalism in the pieces I saw. The second and third  looks are my favorites. I wish you would have seen the jacket thats on the third model in person. I would buy it right then if I could.

Next up Hanah NYC.

With an aesthetic that focuses on a mixture of sophistication with edgy inventiveness through quality fabrics and clever tailoring techniques, Hanah’s designs will surely be one that cannot be missed.

I found myself wishing I had a lot of these designs on me. The hip-length sleeveless jacket in white was a favorite ice of mine. That style in fact is coming back to popularity as I’ve seen it in many presentations over the past few days and outside of that as well. I loved the texture and I love the pattern work as well.

The Autie presentation was next. I had not one great photo (at least in my eyes)  so I opted to show you all the video I took of this very fun and very playful presentation.

Originally from Northern California Autie Carlisle obtained a bachelors degree in San Fransisco before moving to New York in 2011.  She has been part of the of amazing industry teams such as those of Proenza SchoulerAlexander Wang, Anne Demeulemeester and Helmut Lang. These truly impressive experiences have clearly provided Autie with the ability to create pieces which are contemporary and very much full standout details and materials such to command attention in any room.

Finally there was a surprise for guests who attended. It was a surprise preview from international designer Sergei Grinko prior to his presentation at Milan Fashion Week!!! It was beyond exciting! Below are my favorite looks plus a video.
