The Lion King | Why Thrifting is Amazing

What I love most about this outfit is that most of it came from a discounted shop and was thrifted. If you don’t get the concept, it’s pretty much going somewhere and buying gently used clothing and making it your own. Since loosing my old job i’ve had to find ways to keep money in my pocket and so I started to thrift more than I ever have before.

The best places in NYC to do this are (in my opinion):

  • Salvation Army

  • Peach Frog

  • Buffalo Exchange

That’s only naming a few! Whenever I find a new thrift store or stumble on to one I’ve got to go in and at least see. Right now i’m on the hunt for jeans/skirts & other bottoms that may help boost some of my Disney fashion’s. (Follow me on Instagram @thegirllovesdisney for inspiration!). Take this Lion king sweater, I purchased it through Poshmark for a steep discount. It was originally at the parks so it could have run somewhere in the $40-$50 range at the time (it’s vintage Disney so i’m making an assumption). I paired it with my tried and true yellow skirt. Still haven’t a clue where I thrifted it from. Shame on me for that one.

The ears are from the Parks, Animal Kingdom to be exact. They were at a kiosk near Tiffin’s Restaurant but can be purchased anywhere throughout the park as well as ShopDisney.com. To top it all off I had my tried and true Dr. Scholl’s Black Flats on. These things are comfy. Incredibly comfy!!!
